Carbon-neutral for a positive world.
Over the past decade, Pure & Gentle has taken steps to become a carbon-neutral manufacturing facility by diminishing our impact on the planet and identifying and reducing our greenhouse gas (GHG) footprint. Greenhouse gases are a type of gas that contribute to the greenhouse effect by absorbing infrared radiation and damaging our environment.
Efficiency for our partners and our planet.
Our current approach to maintaining a carbon-neutral manufacturing facility has enabled Pure & Gentle to meet emissions reduction goals each year since starting the program in 2009.
2009
Pure & Gentle took action to further diminish our impact on the planet by identifying our greenhouse gas footprint and reducing it.
Audit
After a third-party audit, we learned that a large portion of emissions were a result of outbound transportation, so we set goals to reduce emissions for the next year.
Setting ambitious goals
Using 2009 as the base year, Pure & Gentle set a 5% reduction goal by 2010 and a 30% reduction by 2014.
Mission accomplished and continued
Our carbon-neutral manufacturing facility and award-winning team has refined our products, processes, and packaging to reduce overall environmental impact by over 75%.
